Course Description:
Theatre and theatrical performances in Ancient Greece have played a vital role in the citizens’ daily life and have had a significant educational aspect as well. The authors of these theatrical works raised issues that still concern people today, each presenting topics in their own way through a Tragedy or a Comedy. The best known Authors of Tragedy are Sophocles, Aeschilus and Evripidis, while the best known for Comedy is Aristophanes. Nevertheless, they all had a common goal which was to educate and enlighten the audience in many ways and on many levels.
